The Middlesbrough Art Weekender 2018 (4th -7th Oct) are looking for volunteers.


About Middlesbrough Art Weekender

MAW is a grassroots contemporary arts festival. In its second year, it is held across the town of Middlesbrough. Our core aims are to activate space, work with local and international artists, and make the name Middlesbrough synonymous with brilliant art development, production and practice.

Last years festival proved an amazing success, and a huge part of that was down to our incredibly dedicated team of volunteers. It’s made us even more ambitious, and this year the festival will take place over 4 days, 4th – 7th October, and include dozens of artists, performers and filmmakers.

We are looking for volunteers who want to play an active role in a fast growing, exciting arts festival in Middlesbrough town.

Volunteers will fill a variety of roles, including:

  • Preparing exhibition and event spaces
  • Staffing information desks
  • Stewarding exhibitions and events
  • Helping to gather audience feedback
  • Assisting artists – this could mean helping artists set up their work, or showing them around town.

What you’ll get:

  • A festival pack, including t-shirt and tote bag.
  • Full induction
  • Tea, coffee and refreshments during your shifts.
  • Passes to any 2 ticketed performances/workshops

What we will get:

20 hours of volunteering.

The festival runs from 4th -7th October. We will be asking people for availability between September 28th through until October 12th, including weekends.
